2012, Episode 4: A New Blog

It's been far too long since I've had a real outlet for my writing on the internet.

Back in prehistoric times, when both the Internet and I were young, and homepages were popular, I had a Geocities website. I went by Darkstripe the Mighty, badger lord of Salamandastron (it's from Redwall, I was in middle school at the time). Later on all my friends had LiveJournals, so I signed up, and posted to it every couple of years. In high school I took a web design class and made a new website (ReptilianSamurai), but the free hosting I ended up getting for it filled it with pop-ups and ads and I quickly stopped using it. I've always considered building a better webpage after I minored in Web Design in college, but real life prevented the project from even getting to the drawing board, let alone off of it.

I am a creative person; a writer, and a writer needs an outlet. So now, in 2012, I'm signing up for a blog, my own little piece of the internet to call home. May it meet with more success than my earlier ventures.

In the future, you can expect to see this page filled with my random thoughts and musings and opinions from a diverse set of topics: scifi, videogames, computers, the internet, anime, board gaming, atheism, liberalism, and more. Possibly some creativity and humor and a bit of my own life. Hopefully it will be interesting. If you want to follow me the best way would be to grab the RSS feed. Personally I love Google Reader and use it daily to peruse updates to all my favorite sites and blogs.

Happy 2012! Write long and prosper, and may the blog be with you!
